Half step

New Product Launch - Introducing Half Steps

In the workplace and at home, a half-step can be the perfect solution for people who have difficulty navigating steps, kerbs, and doorways. Users can manage heights more easily by using half steps, which bridge the gap between the floor and doorway. The use of half steps is a popular solution for those with limited mobility, such as those recovering from injuries, the elderly, and those with limited mobility due to disabilities. By providing a stable and reduced height to step up or down, half steps minimize the risk of trips and falls. They offer a more secure footing, making it easier for individuals to transition between levels safely. Additionally, the textured surface of many half steps can provide extra grip, further enhancing safety.

The Ramp Factory offers an adjustable half steps which are available in two colours and two sizes. The steps can be used without legs at an 80mm height or, when the adjustable legs are attached, the half step can be adjusted to heights between 105mm - 120mm.

The Ramp Factory's adjustable half steps are designed to assist users to overcome thresholds, doorways and doorsteps. These elite mobility half steps offer a GRP surface which is renowned for being waterproof, durable and corrosion resistant. The slip-resistant half steps are offered with a comprehensive two-year warranty.

Half Step mobility aid

There is often a question as to whether a person should buy a half step or a wheelchair ramp. As each product offers benefits, it is important the person is comfortable with the choice they make. The wheelchair ramp would be a better investment if you are currently using a walking aid but anticipate using one in the future, as it can be used for both walking and going up. Due to their limited height range, half steps are not suitable for higher heights, and a ramp would be a better option for those at higher heights, or who have to climb a set of steps. We do also provide wheelchair ramps with handrails to assist those walking up the ramps. Half steps may be preferred where space is limit and there is not room for a wheelchair ramp or where you are overcoming smaller heights. Depending on abilities, some do simply prefer, or feel safer, using a half step rather than a ramp whilst for other individuals they feel safety walking up a ramp.

For advice in choosing the right wheelchair ramp or half step for your requirements please contact The Ramp Factory team who will be able to assist.
