Our range of mobile steps with platforms are provided on wheels to allow these to easily be moved. Please note many of the range are quite heavy so if you wished to lift and move the steps we would recommend at least two people to undertake this. Please check the product weights and act in line with LOLER and your health and safety guidelines regarding manual handling.

We recommend measuring the vertical height from the ground to the area you wish to reach, this is the approximate working height. All of our steps state the approximate working height the step is recommended for. We base the approximate working height based on an individual who is 1.75m in height.

A risk assessment should be undertaken to check a ladder is suitable for the work due to be undertaken. Those using the ladder should also complete training on how to safely use it. It is important regular checks are done to ensure the ladder is in working order and free from defects. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provide extensive guidance around this.

Ladders should also be checked prior to use for any signs of damage or wear. You should check that the fixings are secure, the ladder is clean and the treads are not damaged. You should also check the feet of the ladder to ensure it stands securely on the ground. If you find any damage you should not use the ladder, you should instead report this to management so they can schedule for the ladder to be fixed or replaced if needed.

Ladders with four points of contact on the ground offer more stability and safety. Due to the additional stability it does not move and wobble. As a result users can use the ladder alone without having to need someone to stand at the base of the ladder to secure it. This frees up other employees time to get on with other tasks. The four point system also allows weight to evenly be distributed which reduce strain on the ladder, in turn reducing the risk of damage and wear and the need to replace it.
