What To Check
Measure the vertical height from the ground to where the the ramp will rest. This height is important to identify what length ramp you need to achieve a smooth, safe loading gradient.
Check the weight of your bike and consider any weight it may be carrying, including your weight where relevant. It is important you purchase a ramp which can support the weight of your bike for safe loading.
Check the width of your motorbike, some bikes require an extra wide ramp. Also check the width of your van or step to ensure the ramps will be able to rest securely in place during loading.
Additional Considerations
Foldable ramps are often easy to lift and store whilst straight ramps often have higher capacities.
Aluminium ramps are lighter and rust-proof however they are generally slightly more expensive than heavier steel solutions.
It is important to ensure the ramp provides grip during loading. Where loading in wet or muddy conditions, ensure to look for a grip surface which allows the dirt to drop through the ramps.

Safely Load Your Motorbike
- Always check the minimum and maximum load height the motorbike ramp is designed for. Do not exceed the recommendations as the foot of the ramp will not sit securely on the floor. Do not exceed the recommended capacity (SWL).
- Use the ramp on a flat even surface, for example on a flatbed vehicle, van or step. Ensure the foot (base) of the ramp is resting securely on the ground.
- Secure the ramp to your van or trailer using the safety straps provided.
- Aluminium motorbike ramps should only be used to load motorbikes, quad bikes, ATVs and similar. Do not use the ramp to load tracked machinery such as diggers or items with solid wheels including flight cases as this can damage the ramps and void the warranty.
