Adjustable Threshold Bridge Ramp
This Adjustable Threshold Bridge Ramp can be used to overcome thresholds of various heights. The external ramp is provided in lengths up to 2440mm (8ft) whilst the internal threshold plate is 300mm or 600mm in length. The ramps are provided with a leg kit for height differences up to 70mm - 254mm (3" - 10").
Simply flip the entry plate over the threshold to create a bridge, perfect for allowing scooters and wheelchairs to overcome uPVC thresholds. When the ramp is not required, flip the entry plate back onto the ramp. Due to the anodised surface, the ramp can be left outside, fixing holes are provided if you wish to secure this to the ground.
Please note, if your door opens outwards this ramp may not be suitable due to the safety edges.
Assembly required. Instructions for assembling the kit can be found here.
Alternatively, The Ramp Factory offer roll-a-ramps or drive in ramps. For a portable solution, look no further than the dual channel ramps which can act as a threshold and exterior ramp.

Certain goods and services for disabled people are zero-rated for VAT, including mobility aids, as long as the customer is eligible and the goods are for domestic or personal use. All of our wheelchair ramps classify as mobility aids and therefore those eligible can purchase these VAT exempt.
Who is eligible?
VAT relief is available for individuals with chronic illnesses and or disabilities. The wheelchair ramp must be for exclusive use by the disabled individual. VAT relief is also available to registered UK charities.
Who is not eligible?
Businesses are not eligible for VAT relief. VAT relief is also not available where the ramp is being purchased for a group of people to use, except for charities. In addition, those with temporary incapacities, such as broken bones, are required to pay the VAT.
How do I claim my VAT back?
At the checkout stage, prior to entering payment details, there is a VAT exemption box. Simply enter the full name of the person the ramp is for and their disability, or the charity name and number, and tick to confirm it is correct. The VAT will then automatically be removed from your purchase.
If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT, please contact our team, consult Notice 701/7 VAT Relief for Disabled People or contact the National Advice Service on 0845 010 9000.
Ramp Length & Load Height
The load height is the most important information to determine the wheelchair ramp length.
Load Height: This is the vertical measurement from the ground to where you rest the ramp onto. The maximum load height is also stated in every product.
On this specific product you will also require the height of the internal drop and the depth of you step, this will allow you to confirm the entry plate will be long enough for the application. If your doors open outwards onto either of the ramps please carefully consider how this will work.
For the external ramps please use this guidelines:
Manual Wheelchairs:
Minimum recommended gradient: 1:6
e.g. you have a load height of 100mm then you would need a minimum length of 600mm.
Mobility Scooters/Electric Wheelchairs:
Minimum recommended gradient: 1:8 (Ramp needs to be longer due to the low ground clearance)
e.g. you have a load height of 100mm then you would need a minimum length of 800mm.
This applies for all temporary wheelchair ramps. The rule of thumb is the longer the ramp, the smoother the gradient and the easier for the wheelchair user to use the ramp.
